Hatteras Yachts
Hatteras 64 Convertible

The Hatteras 64 Convertible sets a new standard for the mid-size sportfishing convertible. With her wide beam, shallow draft and large fuel capacity, she is an industry leader by any measure. The 64 tames heavy seas with ease, thanks to her advanced hull design and propulsion technology, encased in a robust solid-fiberglass hull. She also tames the creatures that swim in those seas, thanks to a mezzanine cockpit equipped with the amenities tournament anglers require. Inside, the beast becomes a beauty. The 64's warm interior, luxurious appointments and show-stopping full-beam master suite set this yacht apart from anything else you'll find in this size range.

Exterior Details

Our smooth-running 64 Convertible boasts an unprecedented array of exterior highlights: muscular dimensions, innovative hull design, sophisticated propulsion system, and more. No wonder our customers feel so confident fishing in distant waters.

Double-Decker Cockpit. Measuring an impressive 164 square feet, the 64’s fishing-ready cockpit features a mezzanine with padded seating to keep the crew comfortable and alert. Inside this modular seating space, owners can choose a mix of freezers, live wells, and insulated storage tubs to suit their individual needs. Cockpit standards include an 82-quart beverage cooler, tackle drawers, two 18-gallon storage tubs, and two wet storage bins for brushes and chamois. To the left and right of the optional fighting chair, two 62-inch fish boxes are positioned longitudinally to prevent damage to fish that can occur in transverse boxes.

Flat-Screen Flybridge. The huge, 186-square-foot flybridge is laid out for optimum operation with two chairs fronting a pod-style helm with single-lever electronic controls. Flat-screen electronics displays and a computerized systems monitor are housed in a protective, pneumatically controlled console. In front of the helm, wraparound seating conceals rod storage, and to starboard, a rear-facing jump seat sits atop an insulated refreshment box (an add-on freezer offers even more convenience). An optional enclosed bridge arrangement is also available to allow boating in any kind of weather.

Convex Hull Shape. The 64’s hull shape features a “warped” bottom with a sharp entry forward and highly variable deadrise that becomes nearly flat at the transom. The convexity of the bow lessens wave impact and results in an incredibly smooth ride in head seas. Flatter sections aft reduce water resistance, improving handling at low speeds and increasing stability while planing. Specially designed strakes that bisect the stagnation line (the point at which the water’s surface meets the hull bottom once on plane) provide additional lift and improve tracking in all conditions. Double chines and a flared bow deflect spray out and away from the boat. There’s simply no better ride in the industry.

Patent-Pending Propulsion. The 64 boasts several engineering innovations that demonstrate our commitment to industry-leading performance and design precision. A new cylindrical keyway and key eliminates stress risers, leading to a significantly longer life for propeller shafts. New crosscut bearings use interlacing grooves to ensure a consistent film of lubricating water and longer life for bearings, plus less noise while trolling or cruising.

Interior Details

Sometimes size matters. In the case of the Hatteras 64 Convertible, its best-in-class specifications translate to an spacious three-stateroom, three-head interior that can accommodate a crowd without ever feeling crowded.

Super Salon & Galley. Measuring more than 150 square feet of space, the salon exudes the warmth of genuine American black cherry paneling finished in high gloss or satin. A big, L-shaped sofa with storage beneath dominates the port side. To starboard, a 42-inch flat-screen TV with audiophile system can fill the salon with high-quality sights and sounds. Linear valences distribute air evenly throughout the salon and galley without the hot and cold spots of vents. One step up from the salon, the galley features solid-surface countertops, under-counter refrigeration, a four-burner ceramic cook top, garbage disposal, and microwave/convection oven. Opposite sits a large dinette with solid-surface tabletop.

Full-Beam Master. The full-beam configuration of the master suite is more than just best in class. It offers an unparalleled 166 square feet of space — virtually identical to the master aboard our 68 Convertible! Accessed through a private foyer that is flanked by a 92-inch hanging locker, the 64’s master has more than enough room for a king-sized berth, twin nightstands, and dressers port and starboard. A 20-inch flat-screen TV also comes standard. Two optional portlights permit natural light and provide a water-level view to either side. If the owner wishes, the master can also be outfitted with an optional desk, or a sofa substituted for one of the dressers. Have it your way!

Spacious Staterooms. At 74 square feet, the 64’s bow stateroom is almost identical to its counterpart on our 68. This VIP cabin can house either a standard queen-sized berth with storage underneath, or an optional queen/twin upper/lower arrangement. Two cedar-lined hanging lockers, plus drawer and cabinet space along the hull sides, guarantee that guests won’t have to leave any belongings behind. The port stateroom comes with twin berths, along with a hanging locker, hull-side storage, and nightstand. A queen berth with storage beneath is optional.

By foregoing the foyer entrance to the master suite, an owner can add an optional fourth stateroom. Contact your local dealer or order a brochure for full details on our 64 Convertible.
